HISTORY
Department of Mathematics was founded in 1975 within the Faculty of Science and Engineering. It was included in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences with the conversion of the Faculty of Science and Engineering to the Faculty of Arts and Sciences with the Decree No. 41 of the Law No. 2547 published in 1982. The Department of Mathematics is now in charge of Functions Theory and Functional Analysis, Geometry, Algebra and Number Theory, Topology, Mathematics Foundations and Mathematics Logic, Applied Mathematics with 10 Professors, 3 Associate Professors, 5 Assistant Professors, 8 Research Assistants who are continuing their scientific research activities, as well as undergraduate and graduate education and teaching.

Program Profile
The training period is four years. The educational program of our department has been organized to train modern mathematicians who can follow the developments in modern mathematics.
Graduates' Working Areas
Our graduates can be appointed as a mathematics teacher by Ministry of Education or they can work as a mathematics teacher in private schools if they have the required score from the KPSS and have the formation. They may have various positions in the computer sector. They can work in banks. Candidates who continue their graduate education may work as researchers or instructors in universities or in various institutions.
